President's Day

Presidents’ Day 🇺🇸

It’s a U.S. federal holiday celebrated on the third Monday of February. Originally it was George Washington’s birthday, but over time it’s become a day that broadly honors U.S. presidents, past and present (even if Lincoln still gets a lot of the love).

What it usually means in practice:

  • 🏛️ Federal offices and banks are closed

  • 🛍️ Retail stores go wild with sales

  • 📚 Schools may be closed or do special history lessons

  • 🇺🇸 Lots of patriotic trivia and debates about which presidents actually deserve a day
